These paintings were made while living in Chester and Wales during the 1990’s. After my degree I felt a strong urge to get back to painting in traditional media. I was influenced by the work of Marc Chagall and painting as a way of processing personal experience. During this period I did a lot of walking in the rural areas of Wales, Ireland and Cornwall, as well as France and Spain.
